July 30 2018 - The National Theatre School of Canada

I'm trilled to announce that I've been appointed Associate Director of the Directing Program at Canada's prestigious NTS. I will be responsible for the mentorship and pedagogy of the two directing students and I'll also act as a facilitator for the school's Artists in Residence. 

 

July 4 - 15 2018 - WOUNDS TO THE FACE - Randolph College for the Performing Arts

Directing Howard Barker's poetic exploration of beauty and identity. At times tragic, funny or cruel, the play takes place over a series of vignettes performed by a cast of fifteen actors.  Performances are part of Toronto's Fringe Festival. Design collaborators: Claire Hill and André du Toit. Performances on July 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 15.

February 7 - 17, 2018 - CANDIDE - GEORGE BROWN THEATRE

Directed Mark Ravenhill's "monstrous farce", which brings Candide into the 21st century. Candide was ommissioned and presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company and first performed in the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, on 29th August 2013.

November 17, 2017 - TROILUS AND CRESSIDA - SECRET SHAKESPEARE

At 10am on performance day, the cast and team assembled to put 8 hours of rehearsal to very good use, staging a 75-minute edit I made of Troilus and Cressida. The cast was emailed their lines a month ahead of time. The audience didn't know what play they were about to see. Add water and stir time!  Proceeds benefit the Leap Manifesto

A new solo for ballet legend Evelyn Hart, special guest in O&R's 40th instalment. Music by G.F. Handel.

November 4 - 7, 2017 - FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS - PROARTEDANZA

Collaborating with playwright and librettist Anna Chatterton on a new dance work which fuses movement and text. Costumes by Krista Dowson, lighting by Arun Srinivasan and sound design by Lyon Smith.

June/July 2017 - OPEN SPACE - BANFF CENTRE FOR ARTS AND CREATIVITY

Choreographer and Movement Director working with director Joel Ivany (Against the Grain Theatre) on staging Claude Vivier's opera Kopernikusand also responsible for integrating dance performance into chamber music concerts. Open Space is a collaborative training experience for emerging opera professionals.

One of the Canadian choreographers invited to create a new work for a group of international dance students gathering for Assemblée Internationale ‘17

October/November 2016 - GEFÄHRLICHE LIEBSCHAFTEN - KONZERT UND THEATER ST. GALLEN

Conceived and choreographed a 70-minute theatrical dance adaptation of de Laclos' novel. Commissioned score by Owen Belton, and design by Dieter Eisenmann and Benedikt Zehm. The performance took place in the Lokremise, an old locomotive repair depot, with the audience surrounding the action on all four sides of the performance space.
